The slab is meant to be poured tomorrow, and at the start of the day there was still no formwork in place. I was curious as to how they were going to do it all in 1 day. As it happened they were complete by 1pm.
In case you were wondering this is a waffle pod slab, which are now all the rage around here.
Our private building inspector that we have engaged to keep the builder honest arrived at 2:30pm, and found quite a few defects that needed to be fixed. Nothing major like errors in the layout and connection to the piers, but things like steel touching the pods, ground and formwork in places, missing spacers and ties, insufficient overlap etc etc. These were all things that should have been done right the first time, and they spent the rest of the afternoon fixing them
